Fomo
Map-first Local Events Network
Fomo is a social map for local events. Browse what's happening nearby, see which events your friends plan to attend, RSVP, and share photos or videos from the night. It shipped on the App Store and the web, and won 1st place in Computer Science at UNLV's Spring 2026 Senior Design Competition.
On an 11-person team, I worked across the Expo app and the Convex backend: native navigation and theming, custom Clerk authentication, map search and voice discovery, interest onboarding, friend requests, moderation and account safety, App Store review requirements, and a server-side media serialization pass that removed redundant realtime subscriptions.
